What is a DairyPro Employer?
A DairyPro Employer is a Manager/Supervisor of a dairy farm who will oversee the work and training of an apprentice in the DairyPro program. The DairyPro Employer must have either a Certificate of Qualification or Equivalency status. The Certificate of Qualification is obtained through an examination, while the Equivalency status can be obtained by a recognized Dairy farm through the ITA. Once this is obtained, the Employer can sponsor an Apprentice. The Apprentice is an employee of the Employer and paid as such. The Employer is responsible for paying the Apprentice’s salary during the apprenticeship, including all applicable taxes, deductions, Worker’s compensation etc.
